Eat Real: You are Already Perfect!

Congratulations PeaceTree on your 1 year anniversary! Wishing you many more wonderful years!

True life is lived when tiny changes occur. -Leo Tolstoy

You are already perfect. There is nothing wrong with you or anyone else. Sound surprised? It's true. How many people begin the New Year by making resolutions? We’ve all been there. We take a vow to lose weight, exercise more or spend more time with our family. We start the year with great intentions, but then we quickly relapse into old habits. Why is it so hard to stick to those New Year’s resolutions? The faulty thinking is that there is something wrong with us when we are perfect already. What if you could approach each day as a new day and make a contract with yourself to live your best life - for you and no one but you?!

Here are some ways you can make your intentions a reality this year:

1. Write down your intentions and keep them in a visible place, like taped to your bedroom mirror or the dashboard of your car.

2. Get to the source of whatever is keeping you in a rut. Are you in a stressful relationship that causes you to eat a pint of Ben & Jerry’s every night? Are you stressed at your job and feel too tired to exercise after work? If you don’t tackle the root of the behavior, it will be much harder to accomplish your goal.

3. Be clear about what your life would look like once you achieve your goal. If you resolve to go to the gym more, how will this benefit you? Get connected to the result of your action, and you will be more likely to stick with your plan.

4. Share your resolutions with friends and family. Hold each other accountable for achieving your goals. If you want to go to the gym more, have a friend call you two or three times a week to check on you or invite them to join you.

5. Reward yourself with every little accomplishment. If your intention is to lose weight and you lose 1 pound a week, pamper yourself with a massage.

Big changes do not require big leaps. Permanent change is more likely to happen gradually than through one big restrictive plan. Allow yourself to climb the ladder one rung at a time.

Wishing you a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year! - Roberta

What a Year!

Peace Tree Village was founded approximately one year ago and what a wonderful, action-packed, fun-filled year it has been!
Since the Winter Solstice of 2008 we have grown from a handful of practitioners to nearly 30 holistic health and healing members.
We have nutured a co-operative environment of support and networking within the Village and within our community.
We have teamed up with Spiritual Frontiers Fellowship and often host their out of town guests offering private healing sessions and appointments in our Village Healer's Room. Special guests visiting Peace Tree Village through SFF's sponsorship have included Mellen-Thomas Benedict and Diane Brandon. Mellen-Thomas unveiled his new invention a photon-therapy machine and coupled this innovative and cutting edge light therapy with intuitive guidance sessions. His CDs describing his NDE (near death experiences) can be purchased in the Village Bokari which opened at Peace Tree Village in October of 2009 and is managed by Donna Williams of The Healing Group Health and Wellness Center located in the front office of Peace Tree.

The Village Bokari is a wonderful place to visit and browse. You will find beautiful crystals, LED candles, energetic jewelry, shamanic fans, shea butter, essential oils, vitamins and supplements, books, CDs, and lots more! Check the Peace Tree Village calendar for Bokari hours or to schedule a private appointment time to shop at your convenience.

Are you looking for new and exciting ways to connect with other healers, learn about different healing modalities, or find a Reiki class?
Then you might be interested in joining our new meet-up, The Healing Group. Here is where you will find nearly 100 other kindred spirits who are interested in a plethora of activities and events, just like you. Through the meet-up we will host, announce and promote events occurring at Peace Tree Village as well as other cool locations and venues around the Triangle.

January has already started with a beautiful "bang" as Village member Diana Henderson offered a free prosperity/healing mediation on 01/02/2010 at 2:10pm to anyone wishing to receive angelic blessings and the Universal flow of abundance and unconditional love. It was vibrationally harmonious and energetically cleansing and uplifting. Thanks Diana!
